2013 Steelers 9 vs Titans 16
The Steelers open the season with a disappointing loss at home. Maurkice Pouncey and Larry Foote suffer brutal, season-ending injuries. The game starts with a safety when Tennessee mishandles the opening kickoff, but Pittsburgh’s offense falters throughout. A confused Isaac Redman fumbles at the 6-yard line after a botched alignment, wasting a prime scoring opportunity. QB Ben Roethlisberger faces constant pressure, throws an INT, and is sacked five times, while the run game nets just 32 yds. The Titans convert a Roethlisberger INT into their only TD and add three FGs. The Steeler defense limits Tennessee's production but fails to generate turnovers. A late TD pass to Jerricho Cotchery offers brief hope, but the Titans recover the onside kick to seal the game.

2013 Steelers 10 at Bengals 20 MNF
The Bengals capitalize on Steeler mistakes to leave Pittsburgh at 0-2 for the first time under Tomlin and Roethlisberger. Key turnovers hurt the Steelers, including a 1st-quarter fumble by TE David Paulson after a 34-yd catch, and a 4th-quarter INT off a tipped pass by Cotchery. Cinci's rookie RB Giovani Bernard shines with 2 TDs, including a 27-yd catch-and-run. Tyler Eifert's 61-yd catch sets up Bernard's 7-yd 1st-half TD. Roethlisberger throws a 1-yd TD to WR Derek Moye to tie it 10-10 before halftime, but struggles in the 2nd half as penalties and sacks stall drives. The Bengals' defense registers 2 sacks and forces 2 turnovers, while their offense out-rushes Pittsburgh 127-44, exposing a lack of Steelers' run game and defensive pressure.

2013 Steelers 23 vs Bears 40 SNF
The Steelers drop to 0-3, plagued by 5 turnovers, including 2 returned for TDs. The defense struggles early, allowing big Matt Forte runs, while the offense stalls with turnovers and missed chances. Pittsburgh keeps fighting and rallies from a 17-0 1st-quarter deficit and 3-TD hole, pulling within 4 points in the 4th quarter behind Antonio Brown's standout performance (196 yds, 2 TDs) and Ben Roethlisberger's 406 passing yds. A 21-yd one-handed TD catch by Brown and a FG make it 27-23, but costly mistakes derail the comeback. Moments after Jay Cutler hits Earl Bennett for a TD to go up 34-23, Julius Peppers scores on a 42-yd fumble return, sealing the win for Chicago.

2013 Steelers 27 at Vikings 34
The Steelers fall to 0-4 in London (played at Wembley Stadium), their worst start since 1968. Defensive breakdowns plague Pittsburgh and the Vikings capitalize on big plays, including a 70-yd TD pass to Greg Jennings and a 60-yd TD run by Adrian Peterson, who finishes with 140 rushing yds. The Steelers defense continues its season-long drought of forcing turnovers and struggles to contain Minnesota's offense. Ben Roethlisberger throws 1 TD but also commits a costly INT that sets up a Vikings TD. He's sacked 5 times, including a strip-sack on the Steelers' final play inside the Vikings' 10 yard line, ending a potential game-tying drive. Despite some offensive flashes, the Steelers can't overcome their defensive woes.

2013 Steelers 19 at Jets 6
The Steelers secure their 1st win of the season. Big Ben connects with Emmanuel Sanders for a 55-yd TD early in the 2nd half, with Sanders breaking free from Cromartie and sprinting the final 20 yds untouched before flipping into the end zone. Antonio Brown throws a trick pass for 15-yds and catches 9 balls for 86 yds, while Heath Miller contributes 84 yds on 6 receptions. Pittsburgh's defense finally breaks its takeaway drought, with Ryan Clark grabbing an INT in the red zone and Lawrence Timmons sealing the game late in the 4th by picking off a wobbly pass forced by Jarvis Jones' pressure. The Jets struggle offensively and lose several key players to injuries, allowing the Steelers to control the game and end their winless start to the season.

2013 Steelers 19 vs Ravens 16
The Steelers defeat the Ravens as Shaun Suisham hits a game-winning 42-yd FG as time expires. Ben Roethlisberger leads a 39-yd drive in the final 1:45 after Baltimore ties the game on a Joe Flacco 1-yd TD pass with 1:58 left. The Steelers' offense leans on Le'Veon Bell, who runs for 93 yds on 19 carries, helping Pittsburgh to a season-high 141 rushing yds. Roethlisberger completes 17 of 23 passes for 160 yds and a short TD to Heath Miller. The defense limits Baltimore’s offense for most of the game, forcing three FGs and keeping the Ravens out of the end zone until late. A 107-yd kick return by Emmanuel Sanders is nullified after he's ruled out at the Steelers' 37, setting up the final drive. Pittsburgh improves to 2-4, showing flashes of a balanced attack as they aim to climb out of their early-season slump.

|
2013 Steelers 18 at Raiders 21
Terrelle Pryor opens with a 93-yd TD run, the longest ever by an NFL QB, as the Raiders jump out to a commanding 21-3 lead. The Steelers struggle offensively as Big Ben is under constant pressure and Le'Veon Bell rushes for just 24 yds on 13 carries. Antonio Brown drops key passes, and Heath Miller fumbles, thwarting Pittsburgh's late comeback effort. The Steelers go 0-for-7 on 3rd downs in the 1st half and Shaun Suisham misses two important FGs, while the defense allows three rushing TDs, continuing their struggles against the run.

|
2013 Steelers 31 at Patriots 55
Tom Brady picks apart the Steelers for 341 yds passing and 3 TDs in a lopsided loss. The Patriots open the scoring on their 2nd possession with a 20-yd TD pass from Brady to Josh Gordon, set up by a trick play featuring a lateral to Edelman and a 32-yd throwback to James White. New England totally dominates the first half, outgaining Pittsburgh 275-87 and leading 20-0 by halftime. Pittsburgh's offense converts just 4 first downs in the 1st half and fails on three 3rd-and-1 attempts and one 4th-and-1. By the time the Steelers find rhythm, it's too late, rendering Big Ben's 400 yds and 4 TDs meaningless.

2013 Steelers 23 vs Bills 10
After early mistakes by the Steelers, including a Roethlisberger INT and two short punts, Buffalo gets good field position but struggles to capitalize. The Bills manage only a 20-yard FG despite starting on the Steelers 29 and 45-yard lines. Pittsburgh's defense dominates, putting consistent pressure on Manuel, forcing an INTO and sacking him 3 times while shutting down the run game. On offense, Antonio Brown shines with 6 catches for 104 yds. Despite a late TD pass by Buffalo, Pittsburgh controls the game with efficient offense and strong defense and cruises to a much-needed rebound win with solid play all around.

2013 Steelers 37 vs Lions 27
I was fortunate enough to attend this rainy game in Pittsburgh with my kids. Big Ben is at his best, running no huddle and calling his own plays for most of the game and torching Detroit for 367 yds and 4 TDs; 2 in the 1st quarter to Antonio Brown, and 2 in the final 5 minutes to rally the Steelers for a come-from-behind win. After Pittsburgh jumps out to a 17-3 lead, the Lions explode for 27 points in the 2nd quarter, highlighted by a pair of Calvin Johnson TD catches. But following a botched a fake FG attempt by Detroit early in the 4th quarter, Roethlisberger regains the lead for Pittsburgh after a marathon 17-play, 97-yd scoring drive, capped by a short TD pass to Will Johnson to give the Steelers a 30-27 edge with 4:46 remaining. Will Allen picks off Matthew Stafford on Detroit's next possession, and Roethlisberger immediately pump-fakes and lofts a 20-yd TD to WIDE open Jerricho Cotchery to seal the victory, extending the Lions' streak of not winning in Pittsburgh to 58 years.

|
2013 Steelers 27 at Browns 11
Big Ben hits Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders for TDs while the defense, despite missing several starters, collects 4 turnovers (2 forced by Troy Polamalu) and 5 sacks. William Gay has a fantastic day, knocking QB Jason Campbell out of the game on a sack that forces a fumble to set up a short Pittsburgh TD in the 3rd, then jumping a Weeden pass for a beautiful 21-yd pick-6 in the 4th quarter to turn it into a laugher at 27-3. Game also features a snappy 4th quarter pooch punt by Roethlisberger to pin Cleveland at their own 1.

2013 Steelers 20 at Ravens 22 TNF
The Steelers rally late but fall short after a failed 2-point conversion attempt with 1:03 left. Pittsburgh scores 3 TDs, including a 1-yd pass to Jerricho Cotchery on 4th down to pull within two, but Emmanuel Sanders cannot secure the game-tying conversion under tight coverage.
Baltimore builds a 13-0 lead by the 3rd quarter, helped by a botched Steelers FG attempt and a 73-yd kickoff return by Jacoby Jones, setting up one of Justin Tucker's 5 FGs. The Steelers fight back with an 8-yd TD catch by Sanders and a 1-yd TD run by Le'Veon Bell. Bell appears to score again late but is ruled down at the 1 after losing his helmet on the play. The Steelers score anyway on the next play (TD pass to Cotchery) but fail to force OT. Roethlisberger finishes with 257 yds and 3 TDs, but the Steelers can't overcome earlier miscues, dealing their playoff hopes a major blow.

2013 Steelers 28 vs Dolphins 34
The Steelers' playoff hopes take a major hit as they lose in dramatic fashion. Ben Roethlisberger throws for 349 yards and breaks Terry Bradshaw's record for career TD passes with his 214th, 215th, and 216th scores, including a 5-yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders and a 43-yard catch-and-run by Antonio Brown. Troy Polamalu adds a 19-yard INT return for a TD, putting the Steelers up 21-17. But Miami answers with a 4-yard TD to Brian Hartline and a 16-yard score by Charles Clay. In a wild final play, the Steelers nearly pull out the win when Ben, from the Steelers 26, hits Emmanuel Sanders, who laterals to Cotchery, who pitches to Le'Veon Bell, who tosses to Marcus Gilbert, who pitches back to Ben, who tosses to Antonio Brown at the Steeler 32, and suddenly, AB races down the snowy left sideline for an apparent winning TD! Unfortunately, officials correctly rule AB out of bounds (barely) at the Miami 12. So close!

2013 Steelers 30 vs Bengals 20 SNF
The Steelers explode in the 1st quarter, jumping to a 21-0 lead with Antonio Brown scoring twice: once on a 12-yd TD pass from Big Ben and again on a 67-yd punt return. Le'Veon Bell adds a 1-yd TD after the Bengals punter fumbles a snap deep in Cincinnati territory and by halftime, the Steelers lead 27-7. The Bengals rally late with two 4th-quarter TDs, but it's too little, too late. Pittsburgh's defense limits Cincinnati to 57 yds rushing and forces a costly fumble in the 3rd quarter. Roethlisberger completes 20 of 25 passes for 191 yds, while Bell grinds out 57 yds on 24 carries. Despite a late INT, the Steelers control the game from start to finish, delivering one of their most complete performances of the season.

2013 Steelers 38 at Packers 31
With the score tied 31-31, 2 minutes left and the Packers pinned deep in their own territory, Hall of Famer Troy Polamalu the play of the game when he tracks down scrambling Packers QB Matt Flynn and punches the ball out, recovered by Brett Keisel at the Packer 17. But Mike Tomlin makes a bizarre clock management decision and instead of kneeling down three times to kick a chip-shot FG as time expires, the Steelers hand the ball off and score on a Le'Veon Bell 1-yd TD run, leaving 1:28 on the clock. The Packers return the ensuing kickoff 70 yds to the Steelers 31 and Flynn hits two quick passes to the Steelers 1 with a chance to tie the game in the final seconds. Fortunately, a false start pushes Green Bay back to the 6, and Flynn's pass into the end zone on the final play falls incomplete to preserve the win for Pittsburgh.

|
2013 Steelers 20 vs Browns 7
After their 0-4 (then 2-6) start, the Steelers go 6-2 down the stretch but fail to make the playoffs when San Diego beats the Chiefs in OT. The Steelers aren't spectacular, but open up a 20-0 lead while shutting the Browns out for over 57 minutes. Ben hits Jericho Cotchery for a 12-yd TD on Pittsburgh's opening drive, and LeVeon Bell rushes for 90 yds and scores a TD with a sweet spin move in the backfield and a power move to muscle into the end zone. Cleveland is never really in the game and first year coach Rob Chudzinski is fired after the loss.
