1999 Steelers 6 at Jaguars 20 TNF Replacing Kordell Stewart and making his first start in 3 years, Mike Tomczak does little to spark Pittsburgh's sputtering offense against the 10-1 Jaguars as the Steelers lose their 4th straight. Jacksonville is far more dominant than their 20 points suggest. RB James Stewart (subbing for an injured Fred Taylor) piles up 145 yds on 30 rushes while Mark Brunell hits 25 of 37 for 308 yds and a TD with Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell each exceeding 100 yds receiving. Meanwhile, the Bus has an awful day against Jacksonville's top-ranked defense, gaining just 23 yds on 12 carries and rookie WR Troy Edwards continues to prove he wasn't worth a 1st round draft pick with only 2 catches in 11 targets for 29 yds. |
