1992 Steelers 20 at Bills 28
Thurman Thomas carries a career-high 37 times for 155 yds and a TD plus gains 30 yds on 4 catches. Barry Foster finishes with 77 yds on 22 carries and is held to just 25 yds during the 1st half, while Buffalo seems able to move the ball at will, building a 21-6 lead. The Steelers keep fighting, scoring on their opening drive of the second half with a 12-yd O'Donnell TD pass to Ernie Mills to make it 21-13. The Bills counter quickly when Kelly takes advantage of a mix-up in the Steeler secondary and finds Lofton WIIIDE open for a 45-yd TD.
Pittsburgh cuts the lead to 28-20 when O'Donnell finds Merrill Hoge for an 11-yd TD pass late in the 3rd quarter, but Buffalo's defense stiffens in the 4th as the Steelers go 3-and-out on their next two possessions and the Bills end up with the ball on offense for the game's final 8:04.
