1995 Steelers 34 at Oilers 17
Andre Hastings returns a punt 72 yards for a TD, Carnell Lake scores on a 32-yard interception return and linebacker Chad Brown has 3 sacks as the Steelers rout the Oilers. Blitzburgh racks up 5 sacks and 2 INTs to shut down the Oilers, who are never really in the game. Hastings' punt return comes just 1:11 into the game and the Steelers roll from there. Del Greco's 43-yard FG pulls Houston within 7-3, but Mike Tomczak (filling in for an injured Neil O'DOnnell) hits Mark Bruener for a 15-yard TD pass for a 14-3 Pittsburgh advantage as the 1st quarter ends. Norm Johnson adds a 43-yard field goal just before halftime to extend Pittsburgh's lead to 17-3 and Fred McAfee's 22-yard TD run early in the 3rd quarter breaks the game open. Carnell Lake returns a Chris Chandler INT 32 yards for a TD with five minutes left in the 4th for a 31-10 lead and the rout is on.
